For this recipe, we've used ham and cheese which are always regular ingredients in our refrigerator. You can also add other ingredients such as chicken, scallions, peppers, a few chili flakes etc.
The type of cheese we've used is cheddar, but feel free to use mozzarella or swiss cheese if you wish.
This French toast casserole would be ideal to serve for breakfast or brunch, and if you're planning on making a breakfast for a crowd on Thanksgiving or Christmas morning, you could even make this the night before and refrigerate, and simply bake in the morning.
It's super easy to make and it's just a case of adding the layers of bread, cheese, and ham and then the egg mixture. That's it!
