Easy Chicken Cheesesteak Sandwiches.
A delicious easy recipe for chicken cheesecake sandwiches, using seasoned garlic-baked chicken and provolone cheese filled in a crusty baguette.
What is chicken cheesesteak made of?
The chicken in this recipe is made up of baked boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips and covered in garlic, onions, peppers, and provolone cheese. It's all stuffed inside a hoagie roll or baguette for a sandwich. It's filling, comforting, so tasty, and because we're using chicken breasts, it's healthier than the beef version.
Top Tip: Warm the bread rolls up in the oven for 5 minutes then fill the rolls with the chicken for extra deliciousness.
What goes well with chicken cheesesteak?
- Swap bread rolls for tortillas or pita breads to make wraps
- Serve with potato fries and a side salad.

Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (any color you prefer)
8 slices provolone cheese
Hoagie rolls or a sliced baguette for serving
Optional toppings
Sliced tomatoes
Lettuce
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Instructions
1.Preheat your oven to 350°F
2.In a baking dish, arrange the sliced chicken, bell peppers, minced garlic and onions in an even layer.
3.Drizzle the olive oil and sprinkle the mixed herbs over the chicken and vegetables. Then season with salt and pepper to taste.
4.Bake for about 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked and the vegetables are tender.
5. Remove the baking dish from the oven once the chicken and peppers are cooked. Chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165F.
6. Place slices of provolone cheese on top of the chicken and peppers, covering them evenly.
7. Return the baking dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8. While the cheese is melting, you can lightly toast the hoagie rolls or sandwich buns in the oven if desired.
9. Once the cheese is melted, remove the baking dish from the oven. Using a spatula, divide the chicken and pepper mixture and make sandwiches.
10. Add additional toppings and serve.
